Congratulations to our latest licensee!

David Summers, KB9UCS
recently completed and passed the Extra Class Licensure FCC Exam!
(His picture is on our Club Scrapbook page.)

You too can be an Amateur Radio operator. Check the link to the left for the next class and testing times and locations!

In addition, ARRL makes licensing easy! For assistance locating local radio clubs, testing sites, and study materials, see our Learn About Amateur Radio webpage, or telephone Toll-Free 1-800-32-NEW HAM (800-326-3942). This special hot line is for prospective hams, only. If you’re already a ham, help "spread the word" about Amateur Radio.

"The Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Enhancement Act of 2009"

One of the most valuable resources to the emergency management community are amateur radio operators. Hams provide a valuable backup communications option that is largely independent of other infrastructure such as commercial electricity, telephone, and internet connectivity.

History has shown that just when the public think amateur radio has become an unnecessary relic of an earlier era, natural or man made disasters demonstrate how fragile our communications networks really are.

Hams are facing increasing opposition from both private deed restrictions, and municipal codes that restrict their ability to erect the antennas necessary for their operation. While these may seem as legitimate efforts to beautify a neighborhood, they do so at the expense of our shared security.
