We now have another Hamfest "under our belts"! It certainly went "without a hitch", which reflects all the time and special effort that went into the planning. A GREAT BIG THANKS to the HAMFEST COMMITTEE and to ALL who participated, in whatever capacity, even if you simply attended!
Nick K9NQW has reported to me that he counted at least 197 tickets that were turned in, so attendance was probably very close to (or slightly over) 200 again this year. Based upon the fact that many hamfests - NATIONWIDE - are experiencing declining attendance, I (personally) feel this is a great report! We had a great response and heard many good comments!
It was also very good to have Autumn, of the Grant County Chapter of the American Red Cross, with us this year. It is my understanding that she is already planning to be back next year, as the response to "free donuts" and coffee was overwhelming. I am also planning to get with their Board and Volunteers to introduce them to Amateur Radio and all of its potential benefits to them and I will need your help.
I cannot even begin to express how VERY PROUD I am of the Greentown Hamfest and all who turned out to volunteer or simply attend!
